ENEA contributes to TRICK’s goals on interoperability, standardisation and Product Environmental Footprint topics

ENEA is the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, a public body aimed at research, technological innovation and the provision of advanced services to enterprises, public administration and citizens in the sectors of energy, the environment and sustainable economic development.

With about 2800 employees, organized in four main departments, ENEA focuses its activities on bringing new technologies to the industry with the aim to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the national society.

The two Research Laboratories involved in the project, located in Bologna, contribute actively to several project objectives thanks to their deep experiences in specific fields:

• TERIN-SEN-CROSS unit brings its competencies on interoperability and standardization (with direct activities in standardization committees (OASIS, CEN) and creation and/or uptake of standard specification), advanced ICT technologies, data modelling and data science.
• SSPT-USER-RISE has well-established experience in the development and application of Life Cycle Thinking methods and tools, such as ISO Life Cycle Assessment and European Product Environmental Footprint methods to complex system scenarios, products, services and new technologies, in several different production sectors.

In the project ENEA has a crucial role on two main objectives: 

1. Requirements collection, designing of the semantic and data structure framework of TRICK and setting up of services related to PEF evaluation, PCO and traceability, and data quality and interoperability, with a focus on standardization
2. Performing PEF studies applied to two specific textile products.

In addition, ENEA will identify the contribution to policies of the whole project.
