PROJECT

TRICK supports the adoption, tracing and demonstration of sustainable approaches by means of an innovative and circular product information management system based on Blockchain and able to provide stakeholders of the supply chains and final consumers with all the relevant data needed to implement end of waste practices and aware purchasing choices.

The core of the project is the development of a complete, reliable, SME-affordable and standardised platform for data collection, secured by Blockchain, to enable enterprises to collect product-secured data, combined with a marketplace including the needed services and the data generated, open to third parties’ certified solutions and business models.

Data confidentiality and privacy protection will be granted by the exploitation of Blockchain’s smart contracts, with different levels of access and information granularity for the specific target groups of stakeholders.

GOALS

Circular economy roadmap based on stakeholders’ requirements

Define the concrete requirement of the stakeholders of the value chains
Analyse the legal frameworks and select the most significant data certifications
Select the communications and semantic standards, the ontologies and the official nomenclature for data collection, and the protocols of data sharing

Standardised commercial services for traceability and transparency

Define the set of service needed by the stakeholders to implement and measure their traceabillity and transparency targets
Set a commercial offer of the services including the required guidelines for the development of TRICK platform and the standards and agreements to implement and foster the services adoption

Data collection with a Blockchain-based architecture

Design a scalable and modular architecture for the traceability of data collection
Natively enable the interaction among different kinds of Blockchains
Provide semantic standards, ontologies and logistic/business standardized documents
Use data anonymization, privacy protection and access-control services

Open marketplace with add-ons for certified solutions

Extend the services of the platform to the marketplace by means of a set of addons
Enable, develop, and commercialise addons
Provide AI based data analytics services for decision making
Provide user-friendly data exchange connectors to exchange all kind of industrial data via TRICK marketplace

PILOTS

TRICK demonstration will be run in two of the most highly relevant, complex, and polluting domains: Textile-Clothing and Food, to demonstrate the replicability of the approach

CONCEPT & ACTIVITIES

The overarching goal to support the adoption of sustainable and circular approaches and to enable enterprises to collect secured product data will be addressed on both innovation and implementation sides, by means of a wide range of activities. The project’s concept envisages the development of a set of services targeted on the pilots of the project, the creation of roadmap encompassing state of the art and the improvements able to support the transition to circular economy and the deployment of a set of new technologies.

GOAL BEYOND THE PROJECT

The smaller players of the value chains represent the richness of European manufacturing culture, TRICK’s post project vision is to put them all in the position to easily find the services and the support necessary to adopt new production paradigms, to involve them in the evolution to sustainable and circular economy and, finally, to strengthen and preserve EU industrial ecosystem, culture and manufacturing heritage.
